Ward was born in MonroeLouisianaon April 15,1976. She attended the private Christian elementary school called Monroe Christian School. In her secondary education Ward first attended Ouachita High School. However, she was later moved to River Oaks High School during the summer immediately following her junior year. After graduating the school she attended was Northeast Louisiana University. Ward, then 13, began modeling after she left school. After graduation, she relocated in New York to pursue this profession. In the years following she decided to pursue acting. In the 1970s, she played a minor role uncredited on the daytime soap All My Children. Then she was cast in a role that lasted only a few minutes as NBC's prime time teen-drama Malibu Shores. The daytime soap Sunset Beach cast Ward as the female Meg Cummings in late 1996.
